A cave deep in the Chiquibul forests of Belize hides a 60ft stalagmite emerging from a pool of pure emerald water guarding the entrance to the Underworld, possibly modified by the ancient Maya. The formation is called a "splattermite" because of the whorl shaped growth of the column. (1667x2500)
